How to Join the SLG
-
The SLG has decided that in order to ensure the group is flexible enough to work as a truly effective knowledge and resource sharing group, it needs to keep its Local Authority membership to a maximum of 15. There are currently 10 Local Authority members, so we are on the look-out for a further 5 members to join the group.
Costs are £12,000 per annum for all Authorities with the exception of Districts Council's who pay £5,000 per annum.
We would be interested in any Authority who can contribute effectively and meet the joining criteria. However, we are at present especially interested in District Councils who we believe can greatly benefit from the output of the Group.
The criteria for joining the group is that you must be able to demonstrate the following:
-
Senior Executive sponsorship;
-
Microsoft Enterprise Agreement;
-
Up-to-date with latest Microsoft software stack or have plans to migrate to the latest versions;
-
Be able to allocate resources to the initiatives that interest you and also appoint 1 or more lead resources who will attend the Quarterly Review Meetings;
-
Recent or planned initiatives that show innovation and shared learninig that the group could benefit from.
Other Public Sector Organisations
Currently, the membership is entirely made up from Local Authorities. However, we would be delighted to hear suggestions on how Public Sector organisations could contribute to the SLG. This includes Central Government bodies and regional partners such as PCTs. The opporunity exists to share in the material and findings on the site and participate in any of the events and activities.
Workstream Involvement
There are opportunities to participate in a specific workstream, without being a full member of the SLG. If you are interested and believe you can effectively contribute to the workstream activities, please contact the workstream lead or the Programme Officer.
Supplier contributions are welcomed in the individual workstreams. However, since this is a Public Sector group, participation in the SLG as a whole is not permitted.
For further information on joining the SLG or participating in workstream intiatives please contact Ben Appleby (Mouchel Management Consulting), Assistant Programme Manager.
